How to Load a Snapshot into a GoHighLevel Sub-Account
By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2023-05-12. Updated 2026-06-02.
Loading a snapshot into a sub-account copies pre-built assets like funnels, calendars, automations, and custom fields from a template into a client location. From the agency view, open the sub-account's actions menu, choose Load Snapshot, pick which assets to include, resolve any conflicts, and confirm. Most small loads complete in seconds.

Summary. Snapshots are pre-packaged GoHighLevel setups that can be pushed into any sub-account with a few clicks. This tutorial covers finding the right sub-account, selecting a snapshot, choosing which asset categories to copy, handling conflicts when an asset already exists, and confirming the load. It also explains how to check the sub-account afterward to confirm everything transferred correctly.
What you will learn
- Navigate to a sub-account from the agency view
- Access the Load Snapshot action from the manage client menu
- Select a snapshot and choose which asset categories to copy
- Skip or include specific assets within a category
- Handle conflicts when an asset already exists in the sub-account
- Verify the loaded assets inside the sub-account
Steps
Go to Sub Accounts in your agency view
In the agency-level dashboard, click Sub Accounts in the left sidebar. Find the account you want to update.
Open Manage Client
Click the three-dot menu next to the sub-account and select Manage Client.
Click Actions, then Load Snapshot
In the upper-right corner of the manage client screen, click Actions and select Load Snapshot from the dropdown.
Choose your snapshot
A dialog lists your available snapshots. Select the one you want and click Proceed.
Select which assets to copy
GoHighLevel shows every asset category in the snapshot (calendars, campaigns, custom fields, etc.) along with a count. Click Select All to copy everything, or click Skip on any category you don't need. You can expand a category with the plus icon to deselect individual items.
Review and resolve conflicts
GoHighLevel checks for assets that already exist in the sub-account. If no conflicts are found, click Proceed. If conflicts exist, you can choose to override them with the snapshot version or skip those items.
Confirm and wait for completion
Click Proceed to start the copy. A notification appears when the transfer is done. For large snapshots with many assets, this may take a minute or two. Switch into the sub-account to verify the assets are present.
Tips
- If you only need one or two assets from a large snapshot, skip all categories first and then individually select just the items you need.
- Use Override carefully on live sub-accounts. Overriding an existing automation or funnel replaces it with the snapshot version.
- After loading, check workflows to make sure any that came from the snapshot are set to the correct draft or active state.

Frequently asked questions
How long does loading a snapshot take?
Small loads finish in seconds. Large snapshots with hundreds of assets can take a few minutes.
Can I load a snapshot into multiple sub-accounts at once?
No. You load snapshots one sub-account at a time from the Manage Client menu.
What happens if I choose Override on a conflicting asset?
The snapshot version replaces the existing asset in the sub-account.
Will automations be active after the snapshot loads?
Workflows typically come in as draft. Review and activate them manually.
Can a snapshot include contacts or conversation data?
No. Snapshots transfer structural assets only, not contact records or conversation history.
