Run an Affiliate Program for Your White-Labeled GoHighLevel SaaS Using FirstPromoter
By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2021-07-13. Updated 2026-06-02.
FirstPromoter integrates with GoHighLevel's SaaS mode to give your customers a trackable referral link. When someone clicks that link and buys your SaaS plan, FirstPromoter logs the sale and calculates the commission automatically. Setup involves creating a FirstPromoter account, matching your domain, building a campaign, and embedding the tracking script in your sales funnel.

Summary. Running an affiliate program lets your SaaS customers earn commissions for referring new clients to your white-labeled platform. This tutorial walks through creating a FirstPromoter account, confirming domain alignment with your GoHighLevel SaaS funnel, setting up a subdomain for the affiliate signup page, building a campaign with custom rewards, and configuring payouts. FirstPromoter is the same platform GoHighLevel uses internally.
What you will learn
- Create a FirstPromoter account and align it with your SaaS domain
- Set up a signup subdomain for your affiliate program
- Add a CNAME record to activate the affiliate portal subdomain
- Create a campaign and configure referral link parameters
- Set commission rewards and payout terms
- Customize branding for the affiliate dashboard
Steps
Create a FirstPromoter account
Go to firstpromoter.com, click Try Free, and complete the signup. During setup, enter the domain of your SaaS sales website so tracking can be tied to the right URL.
Confirm your domain matches in GoHighLevel
Switch into the sub-account where your SaaS sales funnel lives. Go to Funnels and Websites, open your site, click Settings, and confirm the domain listed there exactly matches what you entered in FirstPromoter. If not, update it in FirstPromoter under Settings, then select New Website.
Create a subdomain for the affiliate signup page
In FirstPromoter, click Settings and scroll to Website Subdomain. Enter a prefix such as join, which will become join.yourdomain.com. Then add a CNAME record in your domain registrar pointing that subdomain to proxy.firstpromoter.com.
Build your affiliate campaign
Click Getting Started, then Create Campaign. Name the campaign, confirm the referral link base URL matches your SaaS site, and choose a query parameter style from the dropdown. Click Next.
Configure rewards
On the Offer and Rewards tab, set the commission structure. You can use a percentage of each sale, a flat fee, or a recurring commission. Visit help.firstpromoter.com for details on plan customization.
Set payout terms and cookie life
On the Settings tab, choose whether signups are automatic or manually approved. On the Finish tab, set the cookie duration (default 60 days) and save the campaign.
Add branding and embed the tracking script
Under Getting Started, click Customize to upload your logo and set colors for the affiliate dashboard. Then follow the Quick Setup section to embed the FirstPromoter tracking snippet into your GoHighLevel funnel pages.
Tips
- A 60-day cookie window is generous enough to capture most delayed conversions without being unlimited.
- Requiring manual approval for affiliates lets you vet who represents your product before they get a link.
- Offer a recurring commission rather than a one-time fee if you want affiliates to stay invested in retention.
