By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2023-10-17. Updated 2026-06-02.

GoHighLevel's Social Planner can read any RSS feed on a schedule and turn new articles into social media posts automatically. Once configured, it checks the feed at your chosen interval, pulls the title, image, and URL from new entries, and queues posts across your connected social accounts without any manual work.

Summary. The RSS post feature inside GoHighLevel's Social Planner converts any RSS feed into a steady stream of scheduled social content. You paste the feed URL, choose which social accounts receive the posts, set a check frequency and a max post count per cycle, and the platform handles everything from there. This works with the built-in GoHighLevel blog feed, WordPress sites, or any standard RSS source.

What you will learn

  • Locate the RSS feed URL for a GoHighLevel blog or any external site
  • Create an RSS post inside the Social Planner
  • Connect the feed to one or more social media accounts
  • Set the check frequency and maximum posts per cycle
  • Append hashtags or custom text to every auto-generated post
  • Confirm the scheduled slots appear in the Social Planner calendar

Steps

  1. Copy your RSS feed URL

For a GoHighLevel blog, open the blog settings, click the RSS tab, and copy the feed URL. For a WordPress or external site, the feed URL is usually yoursite.com/feed.

  2. Open Social Planner and create a new RSS post

Go to Marketing, then Social Planner. Click New Post and choose RSS Post from the dropdown.

  3. Paste the RSS URL and choose social accounts

Paste your feed URL into the first field. Select the social media accounts you want to post to. A preview of how the post will look appears on the right side of the screen.

  4. Add optional append text

Use the Ends With field to add hashtags or a short call to action at the end of every generated post.

  5. Set the check frequency and max posts

Choose how often GoHighLevel checks the feed (for example, every 12 hours) and the maximum number of articles to schedule each time it checks. Match this to how often you publish new content.

  6. Click Create Post

Once saved, the RSS post runs automatically on the schedule you set. Open the Social Planner calendar to see the queued slots and confirm the integration is active.

Tips

  • Set the max posts per cycle to match your actual publishing frequency so the same article does not get posted multiple times.
  • Use the Ends With field for niche-relevant hashtags instead of adding them manually to every post.
  • GoHighLevel's own blog generates an RSS feed by default, so you can auto-share every new post to social without any third-party tools.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work with RSS feeds from sites other than GoHighLevel?

Yes. Any valid RSS feed URL works, including WordPress, Substack, and news sites.

How often can GoHighLevel check the feed?

You choose the interval. Options range from a few hours to daily, depending on how active the feed is.

What content does GoHighLevel pull from the RSS feed?

It uses the article title, featured image, and URL to build the post.

Do I need to set this up again for each new article?

No. Once the RSS post is created it runs automatically. You only set it up once.

Can I add the same RSS feed to multiple social accounts at once?

Yes. Select all the accounts you want during setup and the same post goes to each one.
