How GoHighLevel Reviews AI Monitors and Responds to Reviews Automatically
By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2025-06-26. Updated 2026-06-02.
GoHighLevel Reviews AI connects to your Google Business Profile and other listings, then responds to new reviews without you touching a thing. You choose between suggestive mode, where it drafts a reply for you to approve, and autoresponse mode, where it posts immediately. Setting up five starter agents, one per star-rating range, gives each type of review a tone-matched response.

Summary. GoHighLevel Reviews AI automates reputation management by monitoring connected listings and replying to reviews based on rating and tone rules you define. You create AI agents with custom instructions for different review types, such as one for low-star complaints and another for five-star praise, and the platform handles the rest. Timely responses improve your position in local search results and show customers the business is engaged.
What you will learn
- Connect a Google Business Profile or other listing to activate Reviews AI
- Choose between suggestive mode and fully automatic response mode
- Create starter agents that cover each star-rating range out of the box
- Customize agent instructions and personality tone per review type
- Understand why responding quickly to reviews matters for local search rankings
Steps
Connect a listing to your sub-account
Go to Settings, then Integrations, and connect your Google Business Profile. Reviews AI cannot activate without at least one connected listing.
Open Reviews AI settings
Navigate to Reputation in the left menu, then click Settings at the top. Find the Reviews AI section.
Choose suggestive or autoresponse mode
Suggestive mode drafts a reply you review before it posts. Autoresponse mode publishes replies immediately. Start with suggestive mode if you want to build confidence in the agent responses before going fully automatic.
Create starter agents
Click 'Create New Agent' and select 'Create Starter Agents'. This generates five pre-built agents covering different rating ranges. Delete the catch-all default agent so each rating type has a dedicated agent.
Customize each agent
Click Edit on each starter agent. Adjust the agent instructions to match your brand voice. Each agent already has pre-written instructions, so you are refining rather than starting from scratch.
Set the agent's tone and personality
Select a personality option from the dropdown inside the agent editor. A low-star agent might use an empathetic, solution-focused tone while a five-star agent stays warm and appreciative.
Save and activate
Save each agent, then toggle Reviews AI to active. New reviews on your connected listings will now trigger the appropriate agent based on the star rating.
Tips
- Run in suggestive mode for the first two weeks to review draft replies and refine your agent instructions before switching to autoresponse.
- Avoid having a catch-all 'all reviews' agent active at the same time as rating-specific agents, or two agents may try to respond to the same review.
- Google checks response time as a local ranking factor, so even a generic autoresponse beats no response at all.

Frequently asked questions
Which review platforms does Reviews AI support?
Google Business Profile is the primary integration; check current GoHighLevel listings for other supported platforms.
Can I have different agents for one-star and five-star reviews?
Yes. The starter agent setup creates agents segmented by rating range for exactly this reason.
What is the difference between suggestive and autoresponse mode?
Suggestive drafts replies for your approval; autoresponse posts them immediately without human review.
Does responding to reviews actually affect Google rankings?
Google confirms response rate and speed as factors in local search ranking signals.
Do I need to write agent instructions from scratch?
No. Starter agents come with pre-built instructions you can edit rather than starting with a blank prompt.
