How to Host Paid Communities Directly in GoHighLevel

By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2026-04-16. Updated 2026-06-02.

GoHighLevel includes built-in community tools that let you create a private, paid group without sending members to a third-party platform. Set up a community group under Memberships, make it private, add a subscription price, and your members join and pay without leaving your branded space. You can attach courses to the group, create private channels, and automate access so the whole thing runs without manual work.

Summary. GoHighLevel's community feature lets coaches, founders, and course creators run a fully gated, subscription-based group inside the platform. Pricing options include recurring or one-time billing with optional trial days. Private channels inside the group give you a way to segment conversations by topic or membership tier. Courses created in the Memberships section can be added directly to the group and set to display for all members or only for those who have made an additional purchase.

Steps

  1. Create a digital product

In your sub-account, go to Memberships, then Courses, then Products. Create the product you want to sell as your community access.

  2. Create or open a community group

Go to Community, then Groups. Click the blue button to create a new group, or open an existing one.

  3. Make the group private and add a subscription price

Inside the group settings, set it to Private. Go to Subscriptions to add a price. Choose your currency, set recurring or one-time billing, and optionally add trial days. Click Add Price to save.

  4. Add courses and private channels

Use the Learning section to attach courses to the group and set them as available to all members or purchase-only. Use Add Channel to create private topic channels and toggle on Make This Channel Private.
