How to Bulk Verify Email Addresses in GoHighLevel
By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2024-01-17. Updated 2026-06-02.
Bulk email verification in GoHighLevel checks a selected group of contacts' primary email addresses for validity before you send to them. Removing invalid addresses protects your sender score, cuts wasted send costs, and reduces bounce rates that would otherwise drag down future deliverability.

Summary. Sending campaigns to a list full of invalid or dead email addresses hurts your sender reputation and wastes money on sends that can never deliver. GoHighLevel's bulk email verification feature lets you select contacts from your smart list, run them through a verification check, and see which addresses are valid, invalid, or errored. The verification requires LC Email to be active on the sub account and has a small per-address cost. This tutorial covers how to select contacts, trigger the verification bulk action, review the results, and navigate to individual contact records from the results view.
What you will learn
- Why sending to unverified addresses damages your sender score over time
- How to select contacts and trigger bulk email verification from the smart list
- How to track verification progress and check completion status
- How to read the verification results: valid, invalid, and error counts
- What restrictions apply, including primary address only and LC Email requirement
Steps
Open the Contacts smart list
In your GoHighLevel sub account, go to Contacts. You will see your full contact list with bulk action buttons along the top of the screen.
Select the contacts to verify
Check the boxes next to the contacts you want to verify, or use a filter to narrow to a specific segment first and then select all. You can verify a few contacts or thousands at once.
Click Email Verification
With contacts selected, click the Email Verification bulk action button at the top. Give the verification job a name to identify it later in bulk actions history, then click Proceed.
Monitor the verification job
The verification runs in the background. Go to Bulk Actions to see the progress. Status will show as in progress or complete. Large lists take longer to process, so check back after a few minutes.
Review the results
Once complete, open the verification job and click Statistics. You will see a count of valid, invalid, and errored addresses. Click into any category to see which contacts fall into it.
Act on invalid addresses
From the results list, click through to an individual contact record to update or remove bad email addresses. You can also use this view to reach out via SMS if you need to request a corrected email address.
Tips
- Bulk email verification only checks the primary email on a contact record. If a contact has secondary emails, those are not verified.
- The LC Email system is required to run bulk verification. Standard Mailgun or SMTP connections do not support this feature.
- GoHighLevel charges a small fee per verified address. Check current pricing in your account and consider using the rebilling feature if you are verifying on behalf of client sub accounts.
