What Is a Wallet in GoHighLevel?

By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2026-05-28. Updated 2026-05-28.

The Wallet in GoHighLevel is a prepaid credit balance tied to a sub-account that gets drawn down as the account sends SMS, emails, makes calls, and uses AI features, with the agency or client adding funds to keep it topped up.

In plain English

GoHighLevel charges for usage-based services as they happen. Every SMS, email, phone call, and AI credit costs a small amount. The wallet is the balance that covers those costs. When the wallet hits zero, sending stops until someone adds more funds.

Agencies manage wallets for client sub-accounts. You can fund the wallet yourself, pass the cost through to the client, or use rebilling to charge the client automatically at a marked-up rate. The wallet balance is visible in the sub-account and agency dashboards.

You can set a low-balance alert so you or the client get an email when the wallet drops below a threshold. You can also configure auto-recharge, where GoHighLevel automatically adds funds from a saved card when the balance falls below the threshold.

How it works

Each sub-account has its own wallet. In Agency View, you can see all sub-account wallet balances from the billing dashboard. You add funds to a specific sub-account wallet by entering an amount and charging a card on file.

With rebilling enabled, GoHighLevel automatically charges the client's connected card when the wallet needs a top-up, using your marked-up pricing. Without rebilling, you are responsible for keeping the wallet funded, and the cost comes from your agency billing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Wallet in GoHighLevel?

The wallet is a prepaid balance on each sub-account. GoHighLevel deducts usage costs (SMS, email, calls, AI) from it as they happen. You add funds to keep it from running out.

What happens if the wallet balance hits zero?

Usage-based services stop. SMS sending pauses, calls may fail, and AI features stop working until the wallet is funded again. Set up auto-recharge to prevent this.

Can clients fund their own wallet?

Yes. With rebilling configured, clients can add a card and GoHighLevel charges it automatically when the wallet needs a top-up, using the rebill pricing you set.
