GoHighLevel LC Phone

In short

LC Phone is GoHighLevel's native phone and SMS infrastructure. It lets you get a phone number inside GoHighLevel, make and receive calls, and send and receive SMS without connecting a third-party service. LC stands for Lead Connector, which is GoHighLevel's brand for the phone layer. Calls and SMS are billed by usage on top of your subscription. LC Phone replaced direct Twilio connections as the recommended approach for most users.

Getting a phone number

Inside any sub-account, you go to the Phone Numbers settings and search for an available number in your area code. GoHighLevel shows a list of available numbers with a monthly rental cost (usually around $1.15 to $2.25 per month per number).

Once you have a number, it is immediately active. Calls to it ring inside GoHighLevel and SMS messages arrive in the unified inbox.

Usage costs

Beyond the monthly number rental, you pay per use. In the US and Canada, outbound SMS typically costs around $0.0079 per message segment. Inbound SMS is usually cheaper. Outbound calls cost around $0.021 per minute. Inbound calls are less. These rates update from time to time.

Costs add up when you have hundreds of contacts in active campaigns. GoHighLevel provides a billing estimate inside the account and shows real usage in the billing section.

LC Phone vs Twilio

Before LC Phone, most GoHighLevel users connected their own Twilio account. This gave more control but required separate Twilio billing and management.

LC Phone simplifies billing by putting everything in one GoHighLevel bill. For most businesses with moderate SMS volume, LC Phone is the better starting point. Heavy senders who need very specific Twilio features can still connect a direct Twilio account.
