How to Use AI to Auto-Reply to New Reviews in GoHighLevel
By Marnix Geerkens. Published 2023-11-15. Updated 2026-06-02.
GoHighLevel's Reviews AI handles review responses in two ways: auto response mode sends a reply automatically within a time window you choose, and suggestive mode generates draft responses for you to review and send. Both modes run inside the Reputation section of your sub-account. Each response costs a small flat fee, and suggestive mode lets you regenerate up to three drafts at no extra charge.

Summary. This tutorial explains how to enable Reviews AI from the agency view, understand its two operating modes, and configure auto response rules by platform, star rating, and wait time. It covers the cost structure, how to navigate the Reputation settings for individual sub-accounts, and how suggestive mode can help teams respond quickly without fully automating replies.
What you will learn
- Enable Reviews AI from the agency-level settings
- Understand the difference between auto response mode and suggestive mode
- Set auto response rules by platform, minimum star rating, and delay
- Use suggestive mode to generate and regenerate draft replies before sending
- Know what each review response costs so you can plan usage
Steps
Enable Reviews AI at the agency level
Go to your agency view and find the Reviews AI setting. Confirm the activation to enable it across your sub-accounts. Each response is charged at a flat per-response rate.
Navigate to a sub-account's reputation settings
Open the sub-account where you want to activate Reviews AI. Go to Reputation, then Settings. You will see three options: off, suggestive, and auto response.
Configure suggestive mode
Select suggestive mode to have the AI generate a draft reply whenever a new review comes in. You can regenerate the draft up to three times before sending, and you remain in control of every reply that goes out.
Configure auto response mode
Select auto response and set the conditions: choose the platform (Google or Facebook), the minimum star rating required to trigger a response, and the wait time before the reply sends. A short delay, such as two minutes, helps the response feel less robotic.
Save and monitor
Save the settings. New reviews that match your criteria will trigger the AI automatically. Check the Reputation inbox periodically to confirm replies are going out as expected.
Tips
- Use auto response for five-star reviews and suggestive mode for lower ratings that may need a personal touch
- The short wait time before an auto response sends makes it feel more natural to the reviewer

Frequently asked questions
Does suggestive mode cost the same as auto response mode?
Regenerating a draft in suggestive mode up to three times costs nothing extra. You are charged only when a response is actually sent.
Can I limit auto responses to only high-star reviews?
Yes. You set a minimum star rating, such as five stars only, in the auto response configuration.
Is Reviews AI enabled per sub-account or across all accounts at once?
You enable it at the agency level, then configure each sub-account's mode separately in Reputation settings.
What platforms does Reviews AI support for auto responses?
Google and Facebook are the primary platforms available in the auto response settings.
