Summary. GoHighLevel lets you build embeddable review widgets that pull live reviews from connected Google Business and Facebook accounts. You pick a layout (list, grid, masonry, or legacy), cap how many reviews display, and customize colors and fonts to match any brand. The finished widget can be embedded in GoHighLevel pages or dropped into any external site builder. This walkthrough covers the full creation and customization process from start to publish.
What you will learn
- Connect Google Business and Facebook as review sources
- Choose between list, grid, masonry, and legacy widget layouts
- Control how many reviews appear and whether a 'Write a Review' button is shown
- Customize colors, fonts, and the heading text to match a brand
- Add a 'Powered by' backlink to drive agency referrals from client sites
- Copy and embed the widget into any website builder
Steps
Connect your review sources
Inside the sub-account you want to work with, open Launchpad and confirm your Google Business profile and Facebook page are integrated. These connections are what feed reviews into the widget.
Open the Widgets tab
Navigate to Reputation in the left sidebar, then click the Widgets tab at the top. Any existing widgets appear here. Click Create New to start a fresh one.
Choose your review sources
By default both Google and Facebook are checked. Uncheck one if you only want reviews from a single platform.
Select a layout
Pick List for a full-width single-column view, Grid for a uniform 4x4 tile layout, Masonry for a variable-height tile layout, or Legacy for the original template. Grid is a clean default for most use cases.
Set a review limit
Under Max Number of Reviews, enter a number if you want to cap the display. Leave it blank to show all available reviews.
Customize content and header
Click into the Content tab to edit the widget heading and description text. Toggle the overall header, star rating display, review count, and Write a Review button on or off to suit the placement.
Adjust appearance
Go to Appearance to choose a light theme, dark theme, or fully custom colors. Change the font to match the site's branding. Optionally enable the Powered by section if you want the widget to credit your agency and generate referral traffic from client sites.
Save and copy the embed code
Save the widget. GoHighLevel generates an embed snippet you can paste into any page builder, funnel, or external site.
Tips
- The 'Powered by' toggle is most useful on client sites, not your own, since it links back to your agency and can bring in referral inquiries.
- Grid layout keeps all review cards the same height, which looks cleaner on most pages. Masonry works better when review text lengths vary a lot.
- You can create multiple widgets for the same account with different settings, for example one Google-only and one mixed, and use them on different pages.
