Conversation AI is GoHighLevel's built-in AI that replies to incoming messages on your behalf. When a lead texts your number or sends a Facebook message, the AI reads the message, generates a relevant reply, and sends it. You can set it to reply automatically or to suggest a reply for you to approve first. Conversation AI can answer questions, book appointments, and keep leads warm around the clock without a human watching the inbox.

Which channels it covers

Conversation AI works across the channels where leads reach you: SMS, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, Google Business Messages, and web chat widgets. All conversations from these channels appear in the GoHighLevel unified inbox.

You can turn the AI on or off per channel and per sub-account. Some businesses want AI on SMS but prefer human replies on Instagram. You control this at the account level.

How it knows what to say

You train the AI using a knowledge base: web pages, documents, FAQs, and custom Q&A pairs you upload. The AI uses this training data to answer questions accurately about your business, services, prices, and availability.

For appointment booking, you connect it to your GoHighLevel calendar. The AI can check real availability and book the appointment directly in the conversation.

Auto-pilot vs suggestive mode

In auto-pilot mode, the AI sends replies without human review. This is useful overnight or when you are busy. In suggestive mode, the AI drafts a reply and you approve it before it goes out.

Usage is billed by message. The exact cost per message depends on your plan and the AI model selected.
