All GoHighLevel AI features explained

In short

GoHighLevel has been adding AI features since 2023. The main ones are Conversation AI (replies to incoming messages like SMS and Facebook), Voice AI (handles phone calls), AI content generator (writes emails and copy), and AI workflow actions (can score leads or draft replies inside automations). All AI features cost extra on top of your base subscription, billed by usage.

Conversation AI

Conversation AI is GoHighLevel's AI inbox agent. It reads incoming messages (SMS, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, Google Business Messages, web chat) and replies on your behalf.

You train it with a knowledge base: website pages, FAQs, documents. It uses this knowledge to answer questions about your business, services, pricing, and availability.

It can also book appointments by checking your calendar availability and inserting a booking directly in the conversation.

Two modes: auto-pilot (sends without you reviewing) and suggestive (drafts the reply for you to approve). Billed per AI message sent.

Voice AI

Voice AI is an AI phone agent. It answers inbound calls and makes outbound calls using natural language rather than a phone tree.

Inbound: when a lead calls your GoHighLevel number, Voice AI picks up, greets them, answers questions, and can book appointments. It can transfer to a human if needed.

Outbound: you can run Voice AI campaigns to follow up with leads automatically. The AI calls each contact, introduces itself, and handles the conversation based on your instructions.

Billed per minute of call time.

AI content generation

GoHighLevel includes an AI writing assistant inside the email and funnel builders. You give it a prompt ("write a follow-up email for a no-show appointment") and it generates a draft you can edit.

This is useful for quickly generating starting-point copy for campaigns, emails, and funnel pages without opening a separate AI writing tool.

AI workflow actions

Inside the workflow builder, you can add AI actions. The most useful are: AI reply (have the AI generate a reply to an incoming message and send it automatically), AI scoring (score a lead based on their data and behavior), and AI data extraction (pull structured data from unstructured text, like pulling the budget from a form response).

These actions let you add intelligence to your automations without building complex rule sets.
